Happy New Year! One and all …
By now you’ve probably heard about our KIMONI BADMINTON TOUR 2006, with the initial launch starting at San Fernando, Pampanga, February 18-19. Hosted by our friends there at the Smash Power Badminton Center.
Everyone is encouraged to join, from all the way up north to those based in metro manila who can’t wait for the Manila leg in July. You are welcome to join. Slots are limited, so don’t wait till the last minute.
I’m sure a lot of you are asking what’s the purpose of the tour. Aside from the obvious- promoting Kimoni, we are out to promote badminton in general, so beginners are encouraged to try it out. We even have a juniors division. Who knows? The first Philippine world champion might be among them.
Now, we come to the prizes. Aside from the trophies, certificates, cash prizes, etc… we wanted to make this really special. After much thought and months of preparations, the champions on all levels will receive a unique limited edition commemorative high end racket just made for this series of tournaments. Specially designed for the Filipino player, using the latest Japanese superglitter nano technology, let me present the Kimoni “PINOY POWER 888!”. Currently being manufactured, I personally can’t wait for it to arrive. More details to follow.
As the road leads up to the last leg in Manila, all the winners in all the legs will be invited to participate, free of charge, in the finale – THE BATTLE OF CHAMPIONS! It will be held at the activity center of the Market! Market! Mall , Fort Bonifacio, Taguig. We are working on the prizes now, and if you recall our prizes last year, expect us to top it this year!
We also will have a photo contest: a best pair in Kimoni uniform contest and lots more as we really want to get everyone involved.
Finally, in every tournament, the match control will make or break the success of the tournament. I’m very pleased to announce that it will handled by Mindworks, the group headed by Willy Agbulos, Emma Mina, Gary and Jing Tulio, the same group that brought you the successful Powerade series of tournaments last year.
Details are posted elsewhere in this site, but feel free to contact us for more details. We aim to make this tour, this year, the year of Kimoni!
